Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems LLC in the United States is seeking a Mechanical Commissioning Field Lead to guide 2-3 technicians in SASY testing alongside SPARC assembly. The role is hands-on, with daily supervision and active participation in assembly and testing activities.

You will perform pneumatic pressure proofing, leak detection with helium mass spectrometers, ensure accurate documentation, and uphold safety standards. Travel and occasional night/weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of hands-on mechanical testing experience with pneumatic pressure proofing and helium leak detection.
• Proven experience leading small to medium crews of technicians.
• Proficiency with high-vacuum hardware and fittings (KF/CF/VCR/NPT).
• Familiarity with vacuum systems and turbomolecular pumps.
• Mid-level proficiency in Microsoft or Google productivity software.

Responsibilities

• Execute complex mechanical testing procedures in the field with a focus on mechanical testing.
• Lead a small team of technicians daily for safe, effective execution.
• Identify issues and drive them to resolution with proper documentation.
• Ensure completion of test documentation accurately and timely.
• Coach technicians to align with CFS behaviors and safety policies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support SPARC/assembly activities.
• Adhere to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
