Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Lead Technician, Assembly Testing to guide a small team in executing SASY testing activities alongside SPARC assembly. The role emphasizes hands-on mechanical testing, safety, and precise documentation in a fast-paced environment.

You will lead 2–3 technicians, ensure accurate test records, and collaborate with cross-functional teams while upholding CFS safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of hands-on mechanical testing experience focusing on pneumatic pressure proofing and helium leak detection.
• Experience leading small to medium crews of technicians.
• Proficiency with high-vacuum hardware and connections (KF/CF/VCR/NPT).
• Familiarity with vacuum systems, turbomolecular pumps, and leak detectors.

Responsibilities

• Execute mechanical testing procedures in the field, including pneumatic proofing and leak detection.
• Lead and supervise 2–3 technicians to ensure safe, effective, and efficient work.
• Identify issues and drive them to resolution with proper documentation and quality systems.
• Coach technicians to follow safety policies and CFS guiding principles.
• Represent the SASY Test team in cross-functional collaboration as needed.
