Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is hiring a Lead Technician, Assembly Testing to guide a small team through complex mechanical testing, including pneumatic proofing and helium leak detection. You’ll work under the Manger of Assembly Testing and collaborate with Test Engineering.

You should have 5+ years of hands-on testing experience, a HS Diploma, and familiarity with high-vacuum hardware and leak-detection methods. Occasional travel and shift flexibility may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires HS Diploma; 5+ years in mechanical testing, incl. pneumatic proofing and helium leak detection.
• Experience leading small to mid-size technician crews.
• Proficiency with high-vacuum hardware and vacuum systems, including turbomolecular pumps and leak detectors.
• Formal training or progression toward ASNT Level II NDT certification in Leak Testing.
• Experience in fusion-relevant, aerospace, or semiconductor cleanrooms; capable of high/low voltage testing.

Responsibilities

• Execute complex mechanical testing procedures with focus on pneumatic proofing and helium leak detection.
• Lead 2–3 technicians, provide guidance to ensure safe and efficient work.
• Ensure accurate completion of all test documentation and data submission.
• Coach team to embody company values and safety policies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support test-related activities.
