Job summary

S&ME, Inc. in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Construction Materials Engineering Technician to work outdoors on active construction sites. You will perform field and lab testing on concrete, soils, and asphalt, with hands-on training and mentorship to grow your career.

You’ll progress through technician levels based on experience and certifications, with benefits including ESOP, health plans, paid time off, and company-sponsored training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in a related field preferred for advanced levels.
• Active industry certifications such as ACI Field Testing Grade I and ICC Special Inspector are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Field & Lab Testing: perform field and laboratory testing on concrete, asphalt, soil, and aggregates.
• Sample Collection & Prep: collect and prepare samples for analysis.
• Data Interpretation & Reporting: interpret test results and prepare detailed reports.
• Team Collaboration & Compliance: work with engineers, contractors, and project managers to ensure safety and specs.
