Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Field Support Technician to deliver remote and on-site IT deployment, integration, and sustainment for ANG infrastructure across CONUS installations. The role requires significant travel and supports modernization efforts in collaboration with engineers, cybersecurity, and project management teams.

The position emphasizes hands-on installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of IT systems while ensuring DoD compliance and evolving cybersecurity standards.

Qualifications

• DoD 8140 Level II certifications (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND).
• Working knowledge of enterprise hardware platforms and networking technologies.
• Ability to interpret engineering docs, drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service for technical and non-technical users.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical installation activities.
• Travel more than 50% in support of nationwide deployment activities.

Responsibilities

• Assembles, installs and configures systems and equipment per site assessments and schematics.
• Performs system programming and optimization during installation.
• Conducts routine maintenance and analyzes hardware configurations.
• Provides on-site end-user training on system operation and troubleshooting.
• Travels frequently to customer sites to perform field technician duties.
• Tests, trains and supports customers on technical aspects of designated systems and services.
• Diagnoses problems, troubleshoots products, and modifies configurations per customer needs.
• Reviews system and network configurations to ensure successful production deployment.
