Job summary

City of Lincoln seeks a Field Service Technician to perform on-site and in-house servicing of desktops, laptops, servers, and networking gear. You will configure hardware, image devices, and provide end-user support across multiple sites.

The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to handle IT issues for senior staff, and willingness to travel. Physical lifting and after-hours work may be required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years hands-on hardware and software installation experience.
• Experience in break/fix environments; able to lift heavy equipment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiar with PC, monitor, printers, and peripheral devices.
• Experience supporting IT for senior leaders.
• Able to troubleshoot remotely with strong diagnostic skills.
• Willing to obtain manufacturer warranty repair certifications (HP, Dell, Lenovo, Apple).

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site or in-house servicing, repair and installation of hardware and software.
• Provide technical support to end-users via phone and in person.
• Set up, configure and add all hardware; test and image devices.
• Manage Service Now ticket queue and respond to end-user issues.
• Collaborate with departments to provide technical assistance.
• Travel to various sites on demand as required.
