Job summary

High Sierra Talent is partnering with a client in Midland, Texas to hire a Help Desk / Desktop Support Specialist. This hands-on IT role delivers high-touch user support in a fast-paced enterprise environment with executives and VIPs.

You will provide Level 1–3 desktop support, troubleshoot hardware and software, configure devices, and collaborate with centralized IT while often working independently in the field. Travel includes Oklahoma and occasional nationwide assignments.

Qualifications

• Proven Level 2–3 desk-side or technical support experience.
• Strong Windows environments and Microsoft 365 knowledge.
• Solid networking knowledge with routers, switches, and wireless networks.
• Experience with Cisco products and field-based IT support.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 desk-side and remote technical support to end users via phone, email, and in person.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, including routers, switches, and wireless equipment.
• Install, configure, and maintain computers, peripherals, routers, switches, and network devices.
• Support and troubleshoot Cisco networking equipment, primarily Meraki.
• Perform on-site IT support at remote oil field locations and rigs, often independently.
• Assist with user account administration, password resets, and access permissions.
• Collaborate with centralized IT teams while operating autonomously in the field.
• Accurately document incidents, resolutions, and field support activities.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
• Travel throughout Oklahoma and occasionally within the continental U.S.
• Perform light manual labor as required (climbing ladders, pulling cables, equipment installs)
