Job summary

Fives HPM | Aftermarket Americas is seeking an Installation Technician to install, align, commission, and service advanced machine tools at customer facilities across North America and internationally. This field-based role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, ownership of installation activities, and the ability to work with CNC controls (FANUC, Siemens, Heidenhain).

Travel is extensive, with frequent overnight stays to support customers.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Four to six years related experience and/or training.
• High level mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Experience with CNC controls such as FANUC, Siemens or Heidenhain.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and assembly drawings.

Responsibilities

• Install, align, commission, and service Fives machine tools at customer facilities.
• Lead and coordinate installation activities with customers, contractors, and internal teams.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and perform health checks and recertifications.
• Prepare reports and travel gracefully between sites, often with extended stays.
• Communicate project risks and status to the Installation Manager and stakeholders.
