Job summary

The Installation Technician at Fives HPM is responsible for installing, assembling, aligning, commissioning, and supporting machine tools at customer facilities across North America and internationally. The role requires coordinating with customers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure safety, efficiency, and quality throughout the install and checkout process.

Candidates should have strong mechanical and electrical skills, experience with CNC controls (FANUC/Siemens/Heidenhain), and

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Four to six years related experience and/or training.
• High level mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• High level troubleshooting machine tool issues.
• Experience with CNC controls such as FANUC, Siemens or Heidenhain, preferred but general CNC controls knowledge is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, align, commission, and support Fives machine tools at customer facilities.
• Lead installation activities and coordinate with customer personnel and contractors.
• Troubleshoot equipment, perform health checks, and support startup and acceptance.
• Prepare service and installation reports and communicate progress to the team.
• Interface with customers to deliver a positive service experience and manage travel schedules.
