Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an on-site Inspector for transportation construction projects across multiple locations. The role involves direct supervision, inspecting traffic control, environmental controls, layout, methods, and materials, and ensuring compliance with plans, specs, and QC procedures.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and at least 2 years of related experience. NICET/ACI certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• State Highway Agency or NICET certifications may be required by client/jurisdiction.
• Valid driver’s license.

• Travel willingness: 20–40% as needed.
• Equivalent experience may substitute for a degree.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials under direct supervision.
• Review contractor daily reports and accept/reject work per Quality Control Plan and procedures.
• Review material testing procedures, measure quantities, and may perform sampling/testing.
