Job summary

Citrus County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a full‑time field inspector to support road and infrastructure projects. You will inspect County construction work, review plans, and collect data on roadway and drainage assets, while engaging with residents about conditions and program updates.

The role requires travel around Citrus County, a 6:00 AM–3:00 PM schedule, and collaboration with staff on daily reports and meetings. Knowledge of Excel and MS Office is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of customer service or public-facing experience.
• Two years of data collection or reporting with spreadsheets or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Inspect minor County construction projects for conformity with plans and specs.
• Review construction plans and recommend changes for non-compliance.
• Perform data collection tasks and maintain daily logs.
• Interact with the public by phone, email, or in person regarding roadway conditions and Pavement Management.
• Input data into software to update county asset information.
• Attend staff meetings and perform related duties as needed.
