Job summary

Lochmueller Group is seeking a Construction Inspector for roadway, bridge, and utility projects across the region. This role is part-time and on an as-needed basis, with workload varying by project schedules and seasonal activity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience performing construction inspection and materials testing on transportation or civil projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specs.
• Strong written and verbal communication and documentation skills.
• Valid driver's license and travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Inspect roadway, bridge, utility, drainage, and other construction activities for compliance with plans and specs.
• Monitor contractor operations and document progress throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform concrete, soils, aggregate, and asphalt testing as part of materials testing.
• Maintain field records, test results, and quantity calculations
• Coordinate with contractors, owners, material suppliers, and stakeholders
• Interpret construction plans, specs, and applicable standards
• Support project quality, safety, and compliance requirements
• Provide guidance to junior inspectors when assigned
