Job summary

Osceola County Sheriff's Office in Florida seeks a Construction Inspector to perform inspections of public and private development projects, enforce county, state, and federal codes, and ensure safety and quality in right-of-way and utility work.

The role requires at least a high school diploma, two years in civil construction or inspection, strong record-keeping, and ability to work evenings/weekends on-call. Municipal experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of maintaining construction records and documentation.
• Familiarity with County, State and Federal codes and FDOT specs.
• Ability to read maps and plans and interpret construction data.
• Strong written and verbal communication for reports and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Inspects public and private construction to ensure code compliance.
• Assists with review and approval of permits in rights of way.
• Inspects all phases of development construction and utilities.
• Maintains inspection records and prepares reports.
• Responds to inquiries and documents public feedback.
• Performs after-hours inspections and on-call duties.
