Job summary

The Citrus County Board of County Commissioners seeks an Engineering Technician III to perform inspections of major and minor infrastructure projects, including roads and water/ sewer elements. You will report progress via daily reports and participate in conferences and meetings.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 3 years in civil engineering field work, and a valid Florida driver license. Strong analytical and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent training.
  • Three years of civil engineering field experience, especially road construction.
  • Valid Florida Driver License preferred within 30 days.
  • NIMS IS-100/IS-700 certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect major and minor infrastructure projects to ensure compliance with plans and specs.
  • Review construction plans and recommend changes for non‑compliance and cost savings.
  • Maintain daily construction reports and collect material data and test results.
  • Input data into county asset systems and perform engineering calculations.
  • Coordinate with staff, attend conferences, and conduct field inspections.
  • Travel around Citrus County as required and address citizen inquiries.
