Job summary

Osceola County is seeking an organized inspector to perform routine and complex technical assignments in construction inspection, ensuring compliance with approved plans, FDOT specifications, and applicable codes. The role emphasizes public and private project inspections and processing related reports.

The position involves on-site inspections of infrastructure, coordination with developers, engineers, and contractors, and mandatory MOT and documentation duties with occasional after-hours work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two (2) years experience in civil construction, construction inspection, and/or land surveying. Municipal or government experience is preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.
• Must obtain MOT Certification within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs inspections of public and private construction to ensure compliance with County, State and Federal codes.
• Assists with review, comments, and approval of right of way permits.
• Inspects traffic management setup and operation (MOT).
• Maintains inspection records and completes related reports.
• Completes documentation and reports explaining field issues.
• Attends preconstruction meetings to explain inspection standards.
• Provides field inspection reports and bond inspections.
• Performs after-hour inspections as required and may be on call.
