Job summary

Johnson Controls in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a qualified Building Controls Engineer to design, configure and service complex HVAC control systems. You will develop software, prepare drawings and schedules, and coordinate with sales, service teams and subcontractors to ensure optimal operation of client facilities.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least eight years of experience in construction, service or HVAC, with knowledge of control theory and building automation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 8+ years of experience in construction, service or HVAC.
• Knowledge of control theory, building automation systems and subsystems.
• Experience integrating low voltage building subsystems using industry protocols.

Responsibilities

• Designs, configures and services building control systems for customer facilities.
• Develops and tests software programs to operate the system per requirements.
• Creates drawings, BOMs, network layouts and electrical schematics as needed.
• Coordinates submittals, services and installation; tracks materials delivery.
• Performs site training for owners/operators on the building control system.
• Ensures safety and communicates progress to management and customers.
