Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Building Controls Engineer to design, configure, and commission advanced HVAC control systems for diverse building projects in the United States. You will develop software, create detailed drawings, and coordinate submittals with field teams to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

The role requires a degree in engineering with relevant experience, knowledge of control theory, and experience with low-voltage subsystems and drafting tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 3+ years of experience, or associate degree with 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC controls, building automation systems, and control theory.
• Experience with low voltage subsystems and protocols (LON, BACnet).
• Strong computer drafting skills.

Responsibilities

• Designs and configures complex building control systems per contract documents.
• Develops software, commissions, and troubleshoots to ensure proper operation of systems.
• Creates drawings, bill of materials, network layouts, and electrical schematics.
• Coordinates submittals and installation drawings; orders and tracks materials.
• Supports site training for owner/operator and teams; assists in commissioning.
