Job summary

Coastal Waste & Recycling is seeking a hands-on People Experience Ambassador (HR Partner) to support field locations across the Southeast. The role focuses on employee relations, investigations, coaching leaders, and data-driven workforce solutions in a fast-paced, operational setting.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in HR with field experience, a strong grasp of labor laws, and the ability to travel regularly to assigned locations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive HR experience in an HR Generalist, Employee Relations Specialist, or HR Business Partner role.
• Experience independently leading employee relations investigations, including interviews and documenting findings.
• Experience advising managers on performance, workplace concerns, policy interpretation, and corrective actions.
• Strong understanding of employment laws, HR practices, and compliance.
• Experience analyzing workforce data to identify trends and improve retention and performance.
• Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills.
• Judgment, professionalism, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive employee matters independently.
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly to assigned operational locations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experience with HRIS.
• Bilingual English and Spanish or English and Haitian Creole.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted HR partner to operational leaders and employees on relations, performance, policies, and workforce challenges.
• Independently conduct workplace investigations, document findings, recommend disciplinary actions, and guide leaders.
• Regularly visit Coastal locations, connect with frontline employees, and align with operational needs.
• Analyze turnover, attendance, retention, and workforce metrics to drive improvements.
• Identify opportunities to boost engagement, address concerns, and strengthen retention.
• Support onboarding, employee changes, performance documentation, and separations.
• Ensure consistent HR policy application and compliant documentation.
• Partner with Recruiting, Payroll, Benefits, Training, and other People Experience teams to deliver HR solutions.
