The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is inviting applications for a Highway Technician Assistant I in Bardstown, KY. This role involves hands-on inspection of roadway construction, documentation, and coordination with contractors to ensure safety and compliance on projects in Nelson County.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate.
• Experience: NONE.
• Must be 18+ years old with a valid driver's license.
• Within 12 months: obtain Class B CDL, First Aid & Snow & Ice Training, Traffic Control/Flagger & OSHA 10.

Responsabilités

• Inspect roadway construction to ensure work follows plans and contract requirements.
• Observe, measure, document construction work and keep accurate records for payments.
• Communicate with contractors, KYTC personnel, and public about construction activities and field issues.
• Assist with surveying, material testing, and other field activities.
• Operate trucks and highway equipment, including snowplows and salt spreaders during snow/ice events.
