The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is seeking a Highway Technician Assistant I in Hardin County (Elizabethtown). This full-time role offers field and classroom training to advance in road construction and maintenance, with overtime eligibility and a focus on safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities include installing signs, snow duty, tool operation, and flagging for traffic control. Education is high school level; licensure requirements will apply during employment.

Qualifications

• Must possess high school diploma.
• Experience in rough terrain and all weather conditions preferred.
• Experience operating road maintenance equipment a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install new sign assemblies.
• Operate dump trucks with snowplow and salt spreader.
• Use power tools such as drills and chainsaws.
• Assist signal crew and flag traffic for operations.
