Job summary

GeoEngineers is seeking a Staff Geotechnical Engineer to lead field exploration and observation of earthwork and foundation construction in the St. Louis, MO area.

You will also prepare field reports and perform geotechnical analyses, contributing to projects of varying size while developing expertise in soil conditions and construction-related issues. The role requires a civil/geotechnical engineering degree with strong problem solving and communication skills, plus a willingness to travel

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering required; Master’s in Geotechnical or related field strongly preferred.
• Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work well in a team.
• Proven problem solving and professional-level verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• One year of driving experience in the United States; international experience considered.
• Willing to travel domestically as needed.

Responsibilities

• Field exploration and observation of earthwork and foundation construction to understand soil conditions.
• Prepare field reports and perform geotechnical analyses (slope stability, bearing capacity, settlement, deep foundation design, seismic).
• Assist with gathering field data and samples; coordinate testing as needed.
• Provide support to geotechnical teams at other locations as needed.
