Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil, geological, and/or environmental engineering (required).
• Advanced degree in the same (preferred).
• Prior internship or work experience in engineering consulting (preferred).
• Prior research or remediation experience (preferred).
• Regular field work and overnight travel (required).
• Valid U.S. driver1s license with satisfactory driving record (required).

Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical field investigations.
• Monitor heavy civil construction projects.
• Fieldwork including soil, surface water and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, and remediation treatment system operation and maintenance.
• Perform and review engineering calculations.
• Earthquake engineering.
• Landfill design and permitting.
• Dam and levee evaluations.
• Develop construction documents.
• Write and review engineering reports.
• Geotechnical exploration.
• Geotechnical instrumentation installation and monitoring.
• Well installation, aquifer testing, and groundwater monitoring.
• Groundwater and soil remedy evaluation, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation.
• Regulatory compliance services, and permitting.
• Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures.
• Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.
• Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or project sites.
