Job summary

GeoEngineers in Boise, ID seeks a Staff Geotechnical Engineer to lead field exploration and reporting on diverse projects, developing expertise in soil conditions and foundation problems. You will perform analyses such as slope stability and seismic evaluation and may assist teams at other locations.

The role requires a Civil/Geotechnical degree, an EIT certification, and strong communication skills; a valid US driver’s license is mandatory. A 2027 start is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering is required; Master’s in Geotechnical or related field is strongly preferred.
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification is required for Staff Engineers.
• Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work well in a team.
• Proven problem solving and professional verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• A valid driver’s license is required; one year of driving experience in the United States (international experience considered).

Responsibilities

• Field exploration and observation of earthwork and foundation construction to understand soil conditions and geotechnical issues.
• Prepare field reports and perform geotechnical analyses (slope stability, bearing capacity, settlement, deep foundation design, seismic evaluation).
• Assist with gathering field data and samples; coordinate samples for testing as needed.
• Support geotechnical teams at other locations as needed.
