Job summary

GeoEngineers in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Staff Geotechnical Engineer to perform field exploration, observe earthwork and foundation construction, and develop a broad understanding of soil conditions on diverse projects.

You will prepare field reports and conduct geotechnical analyses such as slope stability, bearing capacity, settlement, deep foundation design, and seismic evaluation, with occasional collaboration across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering required; Masters in Geotechnical or related field strongly preferred.
• Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work within a team.
• Strong problem solving and verbal/written communication skills are a must.
• Valid drivers license is required.
• Domestic travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Field exploration and observation of earthwork and foundation construction to understand soil conditions and construction-related geotechnical issues.
• Prepare field reports and perform geotechnical analyses such as slope stability, bearing capacity, settlement, deep foundation design, and seismic evaluation.
• Assist with gathering field data and samples; coordinate testing as needed.
• May provide support to geotechnical teams at other locations as needed.
