Job summary

GeoEngineers is seeking a Staff Geotechnical Engineer in North Charleston, SC, to conduct field exploration and observe earthwork and foundation construction. You will contribute to report preparation and perform analyses such as slope stability and bearing capacity.

The role requires a Civil/Geotechnical Engineering degree, EIT certification, and 1 year driving experience in the U.S. Master’s degree preferred. Occasional travel and teamwork are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering is required; Master’s in Geotechnical or related field strongly preferred.
• EIT certification is required for Staff Engineers.
• Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work well in a team.
• Valid driver’s license and driving experience in the United States (international experience considered).

Responsibilities

• Conduct field exploration and observe earthwork and foundation construction to assess soil conditions.
• Prepare field reports and perform geotechnical analyses (slope stability, bearing capacity, settlement, deep foundations, seismic evaluation).
• Assist with collecting field data and samples and coordinate testing.
• Support geotechnical teams at other locations as needed.
