Job summary

Fairchild Equipment in Rockford, IL is seeking a skilled Technician to service customer equipment at the customer site or in the branch shop. You will perform mechanical repairs to ensure equipment runs at peak performance.

Candidates with automotive or diesel repair training and forklift experience are encouraged to apply. You will work with parts, prepare precise work orders, and communicate findings clearly with customers and the Service Manager.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of mechanic experience or related education.
• Experience in forklift repair preferred.
• Ability to read safety manuals and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Repair, diagnose, and maintain material handling equipment at customer sites.
• Communicate repair needs and obtain customer approvals.
• Obtain and document part requirements and service history.
• Perform safety inspections and test drives to verify repairs.
• Maintain professional appearance and vehicle cleanliness.
