Job summary

Wolter, Inc. is seeking a Field Mechanic to support customers in the Rockford, IL area.

This full-time role reports to the Lead Field Mechanic and focuses on repairing powered industrial equipment, including forklifts, diesel, LP gas, and electric trucks. You will complete service jobs, document timecards and maintenance reports, stay current with product training, and maintain safety and open communication with dispatch and customers.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years' experience repairing forklift trucks.
• Successful completion of required training courses.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ownership of necessary repair tools as per the tool list.
• Certification to operate material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Complete all assigned service jobs with precision.
• Collaborate with the Lead Field Mechanic on technical challenges.
• Attend service training classes to stay up to date on products.
• Submit daily timecards and maintenance reports with signatures.
• Maintain open communication with dispatchers and the service office.
• Identify jobs for shop repairs when warranted by safety or complexity.
• Develop relationships with territory sales representatives regarding opportunities.
• Uphold safety rules and policies at all times.
