Job summary

Fairchild Equipment is seeking a skilled technician to perform mechanical repairs on customer material handling equipment at the customer site or in the branch shop. Recent technical graduates are encouraged to apply, with strong emphasis on safety and quality workmanship.

The role requires 3+ years of mechanic experience, valid driver’s license, and the ability to work with customers to determine repair needs and approvals. Excellent diagnostic skills and tool use are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of mechanic experience.
• Basic knowledge of computer and internet software.
• Experience with material handling equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repair, diagnose, inspect, and maintain material handling equipment for customer work orders.
• Accept repair orders as assigned by Service Writer.
• Communicate with customers on repairs and obtain approvals.
• Read work orders and diagnose malfunctions observed in operation.
• Offer solutions to meet customer specifications and provide estimates.
• Repair, service, recondition or assemble equipment as approved.
• Record repair details: model, serial, hours, and actions taken.
