Job summary

ArborMetrics is seeking an enthusiastic Utility Forester to support field vegetation management for energy corridors. The role focuses on safe, independent outdoor work with strong documentation and stakeholder communication.

You will assess trees, apply pruning or removal per standards, and contribute to ongoing vegetation programs while ensuring customer service and public safety. Training and certifications are provided.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in forestry, natural resources, or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in forestry/arboriculture or tree-related green industry preferred.
• Knowledge of tree identification.
• Knowledge of common computer applications and ability to learn new programs.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Experience with GIS software/technology as well as Microsoft Suite and an iPhone.
• Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Bi-Lingual (Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Patrol Preparation: organize records, maps, and paperwork for patrol circuits; maintain accurate documentation.
• Field Patrol Duties: safely patrol energy corridors; identify vegetation for pruning, removal, or protection per Client standards; classify work and apply herbicide as needed.
• Landowner & Stakeholder Engagement: use maps to identify boundaries; communicate work plans; obtain permissions; provide professional customer service.
• Vegetation Management & Compliance: recommend sustainable strategies using IVM; audit contractor work; investigate outages; address issues.
• Coordination & Safety: coordinate non-routine work with stakeholders; report hazards; follow safety protocols; operate vehicles.
• Additional Responsibilities: participate in storm response; perform other duties.
