Job summary

ArborMetrics seeks a Consulting Utility Forester to join our vegetation management team. You will work outdoors, independently coordinating patrols, surveying energy corridors, and applying ISA/ANSI standards under client directives.

The role emphasizes safe practices, stakeholder engagement, and accurate documentation. Ideal candidates have forestry education or equivalent experience, GIS proficiency, a valid driver’s license, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in forestry or natural resources or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in forestry/arboriculture or tree-related green industry preferred.
• Knowledge of tree identification.
• Knowledge of common computer applications and ability to learn new programs (GIS focus).
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Patrol Preparation: organize records, maps, and paperwork; review sites for habitats and vegetation.
• Field Patrol Duties: safely patrol energy corridors; identify vegetation for pruning/removal; assess tree risk and growth.
• Landowner & Stakeholder Engagement: identify boundaries; communicate work plans; obtain permissions; provide customer service.
• Coordination & Safety: coordinate non-routine work; report hazards; follow safety protocols and company guidelines.
• Additional Responsibilities: participate in storm/emergency response; perform other duties as assigned.
