Job summary

Qualifications

• Understanding of drawings and symbols representing lines, voltages, line equipment, etc.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Strong organization and multi-tasking abilities
• Able to adapt to field requirements and work independently
• Valid CDL and ability to drive company vehicle
• Able to work with hands above head for extended periods
• Weight capacity considerations (approx. 300 pounds) and no fear of heights

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and assigns daily work for the crew after receiving orders from a General Foreperson/Line Clearance Supervisor.
• Conducts field training/retraining, instructing crew on new or revised job units.
• Enforces safe work practices per OSHA and company policy and conducts safety training.
• Discusses access, power interruption, and work scope with property owners; refers complex cases to supervisor.
• Obtains permission from property owners to perform required work.
• Maintains records, timesheets, and reports related to crew performance.
• Controls crew costs and optimizes use of personnel and equipment.
• Furnishes reports of orders completed and crew activity to foreperson and utility reps.
• Cooperates with customers, police, and fire departments when blocking streets or driveways.
• Inspects and maintains tools, trucks, and equipment.
