Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC seeks a Foreperson to oversee daily crew operations, coordinate tasks, and enforce safety and quality standards at field locations. You will mentor team members, liaise with management and property owners, and ensure compliant execution of storm-related and routine work in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires CDL or CDL-eligible status, strong leadership and communication, and the ability to travel for storm work.

Qualifications

• Requires understanding of drawings and symbols representing lines, voltages, line equipment, etc.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
• Capable of adjusting to field requirements and taking independent action without close supervision.
• Must be able to safely drive an approved company vehicle.
• Must be able to work with hands above head for extended periods.
• Due to the capacity of existing equipment, weight should not exceed approximately 300 pounds.
• Must have no fear of heights.
• Must be able to travel for storm work.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and assigns daily work for the crew after receiving orders from a General Foreperson/Line Clearance Supervisor.
• Conducts field training/retraining, instructing crew on new or revised job units.
• Enforces safe work practices per company policy and OSHA.
• Discusses issues with property owners and obtains permission to perform work.
• Promotes and maintains good customer and public relations through effective completion of assigned work.
• Investigates incidents and minor damage claims when delegated.
• Maintains records, timesheets, and reports related to crew performance.
• Controls crew costs, including use of people, methods, and equipment.
• Furnishes reports of orders completed and crew activity to General Foreperson.
• Furnishes periodic incident and equipment reports; coordinates with responders when needed.
• Cooperates with customers, police, and fire departments when blocking streets or driveways.
• Sets up barriers and safety signs to protect workers and the public.
• Inspects and arranges repairs for tools, trucks, and equipment.
• Maintains good housekeeping on trucks and work sites.
• Responsible for DOT maintenance and inspection of all vehicles.
• Keeps informed about new equipment and procedures; requests repairs or replacements as needed.
