Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions in Pompano Beach, FL is seeking a Fire Alarm Inspector to provide inspection and maintenance capabilities. The role collaborates with sales, field project teams, and clients to ensure systems are inspected and maintained in a code-compliant manner.

Strong attention to detail and effective communication are essential. The candidate will review layouts, produce field surveys, and generate detailed reports while ensuring timely testing, documentation, and adherence to NFPA

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of inspector/technician experience in fire detection and protection.
• Knowledge of current fire alarm and clean agent/special hazard fire suppression systems.
• NICET Level I.
• Intermediate knowledge of NFPA 72 and IFC code or state-adopted fire codes.
• Ability to read technical drawings/diagrams and follow specifications.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally; climb ladders and work at heights.
• OSHA safety standards knowledge and ability to obtain OSHA 10.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Review system layouts and coordinate with systems/service departments for testing and inspection.
• Produce field surveys and daily project logs.
• Inspect and maintain fire alarm systems.
• Produce detailed inspection and deficiency reports per NFPA.
• Deliver and test on schedule within budgets.
• Log and transmit inspection reports via technical devices.
• Oversee project inventory and vehicle inventory.
• Support other inspectors and guide team members.
• Manage job scheduling and progress with an emphasis on quality.
