Job summary

Pearce is hiring an OSP Field Engineer to perform on-site data collection for fiber networks, verify existing field designs, and support engineering with detailed notes and photos. The role demands GIS familiarity, ability to read as-built prints, and strong communication; travel across states is expected.

The candidate should have 3+ years in telecom construction, a high school diploma, and a valid driver’s license. AutoCAD experience is a plus, and a company vehicle may be provided.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in the fiber-optic/telecommunications/telecom construction industry.
• Knowledge of outside plant activities (Fiber Cable Design, Pole Line Construction, Conduit System design).
• Ability to read and understand as built prints and identify conflicts with existing facilities.
• Familiar with GIS, ESRI, and shapefile functionality.
• MS Office Suite experience; AutoCAD is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to pass pre-employment screenings.
• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify, photograph, and document detailed information of required facilities (cables, poles, handholes, etc.).
• Measure attachment heights, span distances, and distances to lines and property boundaries.
• Identify power and communication facilities on poles; record bonding, grounding, and anchors.
• Deliver field notes and photographs to the engineering team; support mitigation strategies.
• Read GIS maps and layout drawings; ensure alignment with project plans.
• Travel extensively to multiple projects across states; operate safety procedures.
