Job summary

Haley & Aldrich seeks a Staff Environmental Engineer or Geologist 2 to perform fieldwork across Holicong, PA and NJ offices, conducting site reconnaissance, subsurface characterization, and monitoring for environmental and geotechnical projects. Travel to job sites and multi-day field assignments are required.

The role emphasizes rigorous data collection, reporting (Phase I/II ESAs), compliance with health and safety plans, and collaboration with senior staff.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related discipline; M.S. degree welcomed.
• 0-5 years of professional services consulting experience including Phase I/II environmental assessments.
• Must comply with Guiding Principles and Code of Behavior.
• Must comply with Health & Safety protocols.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Has or will apply for EIT/FE/FG/PG where applicable.
• Strong computer literacy, especially MS Office.
• Ability to travel across the U.S.
• Valid driver's license.
• OSHA 40-hr. HAZWOPER preferred.
• Physical requirements: lift 50 lbs, traverse uneven sites, outdoor work.

Responsibilities

• Perform site reconnaissance to observe conditions and assess access for subsurface explorations.
• Monitor subsurface exploration activities to collect soil, groundwater, and other data.
• Conduct soil and groundwater sampling per ASTM standards and procedures.
• Collect, analyze, and report field data using spreadsheets and other tools.
• Provide on-site monitoring of contractor environmental activities.
• Use environmental instrumentation and equipment during field work.
• Prepare Phase I and Phase II ESAs and other client deliverables.
• Adhere to Site Specific Health and Safety Plans and participate in safety briefings.
