Job summary

Haley & Aldrich seeks a Staff Environmental Engineer or Geologist 2 for field-oriented environmental and geotechnical projects. The role involves site reconnaissance, subsurface investigations, sampling, and data reporting across our Northeast offices, with travel to job sites and multi-day projects.

This full-time position emphasizes hands-on fieldwork, safety, and professional growth within a leading environmental engineering firm.

Qualifications

B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related discipline (M.S. welcomed).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong computer literacy with MS Office software.
Ability to travel to temporary assignments across the U.S.
Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
OSHA 40-hr. HAZWOPER preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform site reconnaissance to observe existing conditions and assess site access for subsurface explorations.
Monitor subsurface exploration activities (test borings, geoprobes, test pits) and collect soil, groundwater, and other data.
Conduct soil and groundwater sampling following ASTM standards and company procedures.
Compile, reduce, and report field, geological, and environmental data.
Oversee on-site monitoring and engineering observation of construction activities.
Prepare written reports, proposals, cost estimates, and Phase I/II ESAs.
