Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Environmental Compliance Field Team Leader to provide technical leadership and day-to-day oversight of field-based environmental monitoring on active construction projects in Minnesota. You will ensure high-quality inspections, thorough documentation, and clear communication of environmental requirements to project teams and clients.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field, 5+ years in environmental permitting or monitoring,

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and permits for construction (stormwater, wetlands, habitat).
Ability to interpret permit conditions and provide field guidance.
Experience leading or supervising field staff on projects.

Responsibilities

Act as lead environmental compliance monitor onsite; may be embedded with a client team.
Conduct inspections on active construction sites to document stormwater, wetlands, species, and compliance.
Coordinate corrective actions and communicate with project teams and regulators.
Mentor and supervise junior staff; assign tasks and provide feedback.
Prepare and review environmental inspection reports and field documentation.
Serve as primary field contact for environmental requirements on assigned projects.
