Job summary

Fireworks is seeking a Manager, Field Engineering to lead a distributed team of engineers and drive technical evaluations for its AI platform. You will coach engineers, unblock complex evaluations, and ensure customer engagements meet high standards for latency, throughput, cost, security, and scalability.

The role blends hands-on technical work with leadership—shipping POCs, optimizing performance, and co-leading training with researchers while partnering with sales to scale regional impact.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of overall experience, including 2+ years in Field Engineering or related management.
• Strong fluency in the LLM stack: inference trade-offs, model serving, and fine-tuning workflows.
• Experience deploying models on GPU infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Proven ability to grow engineers through coaching and leadership.
• Ability to partner with Sales while maintaining technical integrity in high-stakes deals.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and grow a distributed team of Field Engineers.
• Own the engagement portfolio and ensure consistent execution across discovery, demos, POCs, and production integrations.
• Lead end-to-end evaluations from discovery to production plan.
• Coach AEs and Field Engineers to improve deal quality and outcomes.
• Build and refine the Field Engineering playbook and artifacts.
• Translate field feedback into product/engineering roadmap.
