Job summary

MWH Constructors in Austin, TX is seeking a Field Engineer to support a multi-million-dollar wastewater treatment plant project. The Field Engineer will provide technical and field support to project management and supervision staff to ensure construction work is performed efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with company policy and engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering or related field; equivalent combination of experience considered.
• 0-5 years of construction, design and/or field support experience/knowledge.
• Working knowledge of construction equipment techniques, drawings and specifications, building materials, and required standards applicable to discipline.
• Ability to manage interfaces and communicate effectively with others.
• Familiarity with Project Management data base systems such as CMiC, P6, Bluebeam, CAD, Expedition, SharePoint, etc.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and field support to project management and supervision staff to ensure work is performed efficiently and on schedule.
• Assist with layout, material and equipment procurement, submittal review, manpower scheduling, quantity takeoffs, document controls, material purchases, deliveries and inventory, and project controls.
• Perform ongoing field and quality inspections; verify all completed work complies with plans, permits, codes, drawings, and specifications.
• Prepare and disseminate required documentation records to supervisor.
• Prepare drawings and sketching to support construction work and change orders.
• Provide field support to supervision and craft labor for safe execution of construction activities.
• Research and resolve drawing interpretation problems and initiate RFIs.
• Layout and provide building control lines and elevations for accurate measurement and installation.
• Review correspondence, subcontractor pay applications, project schedule, RFIs and progress reports.
• Assist with review of contractor claims and change orders.
