Job summary

MWH Constructors seeks an Area Superintendent to lead field operations on a critical wastewater treatment plant project in Austin, TX. You will drive execution, maintain safety excellence, and ensure schedule performance to deliver high-quality infrastructure for the community.

The role requires leadership of staff and subcontractors, coordination with engineering and project management, and strong emphasis on safety, quality, and efficient resource use.

Qualifications

• 5+ years supervising heavy civil construction and managing subcontractors.
• Knowledge across civil, mechanical, electrical disciplines.
• Experience with cost control and scheduling concepts (CPM).

Responsibilities

• Direct staff and subcontractors to ensure on-schedule work per standards.
• Maintain zero-accident safety; ensure training and orientations are completed.
• Represent MWH on-site in meetings with clients and subcontractors.
• Plan and supervise activities; review methods, manpower, materials, and hours.
• Coordinate work across teams; align with drawings and schedule.
• Identify and resolve productivity or interface issues promptly.
• Monitor safety compliance and implement corrective measures as needed.
• Ensure material, equipment, and inspections support schedule needs.
• Review daily plans to prepare safe, efficient next-day work.
