Job summary

MWH Constructors is seeking an Area Superintendent to lead field operations for a critical wastewater treatment plant project in Austin, TX. You will drive project execution, maintain safety excellence, and ensure timely completion per drawings and specs.

The role requires coordinating staff and subcontractors, maintaining schedules, and upholding quality across civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines. Strong leadership and safety focus are essential for this on-site position.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience supervising heavy civil construction projects.
• Knowledge of civil, mechanical, electrical disciplines.
• Cost control, manpower planning and scheduling knowledge.
• Working understanding of CPM scheduling techniques.
• Ability to develop and maintain relations with owner and subcontractors.
• Experience with project closeout and punchlist management.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to staff and subcontractors to ensure work is performed on schedule and to engineering standards.
• Maintain safety on site and ensure minimum safety requirements are met.
• Represent MWHC on-site for meetings with clients, agencies, and subcontractors.
• Plan and supervise employees and subcontractors; review construction methods, manpower, materials, equipment, and schedules.
• Coordinate work with other employees and subcontractors.
• Maintain liaison with engineering and project management to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and schedule.
• Resolve construction problems to improve productivity and safety.
• Monitor compliance with project safety program and document corrective actions.
• Ensure materials, equipment, inspections, and support for schedule are available.
• Review daily activity plans to ensure safe, efficient next-day work.
• Inspect work for quality and adherence to specs.
• Follow health and safety guidelines and policies.
• Perform additional assignments per Project Manager's direction.
