Job summary

Motorola Solutions in the United States is seeking a Field Engineer to implement complex communication system infrastructure and provide technical support for sub-systems and product applications. You will troubleshoot, configure, test, and document networks, RF, and servers onsite and remotely, collaborating with Engineering, PM, and Sales teams to meet customer expectations.

The role requires 4+ years in related fields, US work authorization, and willingness to travel extensively (>75%).

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in one of the following: LMR, RF Systems, Radio Frequency, Radio Communications, Two-Way Radio experience, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, Motorola equipment, Telecommunications, Public Safety, Engineering, IP Networking, Solutions Architecture, ASTRO 25, P25, WAVE VoIP, or Military experience
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
• Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract(s)

Responsibilities

• Team with Engineering, Project Management, and Sales personnel to design, implement, optimize, test, cutover, and document advanced communication systems that meet or exceed customer expectations
• Provide weekly reports of activities and accomplishments
• Oversee onsite installation of network, server, and RF equipment and document as-built information
• Perform onsite and remote configuration of network, server, RF, and databases and provide as-configured documentation
• Troubleshoot networks, servers, databases, and RF infrastructure and verify logs are clean
• Execute test plans and provide accepted results for system documentation
• Verify RF performance and provide baseline data for documentation
• Design/develop solutions to difficult technical issues during implementations or upgrades
