Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Field Engineer in the United States to implement complex communication system infrastructure and provide expert technical support for RF and networked subsystems. The role involves onsite and remote configuration, testing, and documentation across multi-site environments.

The ideal candidate will have strong LAN/WAN, virtualization (VMware ESXi, Hyper-V), Windows Server, and Motorola equipment experience, with willingness to travel and pass CJIS security

Qualifications

• Unique combination of RF comms systems and computer/networking skills.
• Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN IP networks and maintenance of cabling, routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Experience with server virtualization and operating systems (VMware ESXi, Hyper‑V, Windows Server).
• Familiarity with Motorola gear and Project 25 products.
• Knowledge of secure protocols (KMF, KVL, AES) and RF systems components.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Engineering, PM, and Sales to design, implement, test, and document complex systems.
• Provide weekly activity and accomplishment reports.
• Oversee onsite installation of network, server, and RF equipment and produce as‑built docs.
• Configure networks, servers, RF, and databases onsite/remote and deliver baseline documentation.
• Troubleshoot networks, servers, databases, and RF infrastructure; validate logs and events.
• Execute acceptance testing and present results for final docs.
• Verify RF performance and optimize legacy and advanced digital systems with baseline data.
• Design solutions for difficult technical issues during implementation or upgrades.
• Perform preventative maintenance and document results with trend analysis.
