Job summary

IES Communications in Monroe, LA is seeking a Field Engineer II - Structured Cabling to install and operate low-voltage structured cabling systems and equipment. The role involves troubleshooting, testing, and field verification of connections and workmanship.

You will read drawings, manage field tasks with minimal supervision, coordinate with project teams, and ensure quality handoffs to customers while supporting continuous improvement in installation practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalency is required.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required for all roles.

Responsibilities

• Understand advanced system drawings, specifications and manuals; create shop drawings and submittals for new projects.
• Manage technical work in the field with little supervision, including in-house and field tasks.
• Own project installation and support field staff and project manager; provide advanced support for field installation staff.
• Maintain and complete project punch-list; oversee technical aspects of projects.
• Quality-check projects, test equipment and functionality, and create punch lists.
• Assist sales staff with product and system demonstrations as needed.
• Conduct detailed field walks for prospective or change-order opportunities and provide written scope narratives to assist estimating.
