Job summary

IES is seeking a Field Engineer II to install and operate low-voltage/structured cabling systems, troubleshoot advanced equipment, and verify field quality. You will read and interpret complex drawings and create shop drawings for new projects, coordinating with field staff and project managers.

The role includes in-house and on-site work, ownership of installation, and support during close-out. Travel within the branch or regional territory is required, with opportunities to mentor junior staff

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 4–6 years’ commercial low voltage/structured cabling experience.
• Ability to work well with others and lead field staff.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
• Must meet driving standards and manage multiple tasks/projects.

Responsibilities

• Install and operate low-voltage/structured cabling systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems; test system components and verify field connections.
• Create shop drawings and submittals for new projects.
• Oversee technical aspects of projects; conduct field walks and quality checks.
• Assist sales with product and system demonstrations; support project closeout with punch lists.
