Job summary

IES Communications in New Albany, OH is seeking a Field Engineer II - Structured Cabling to install and support low-voltage systems. The role requires hands-on field work, detailed testing, and coordination with project teams to ensure workmanship and compliance.

Ideal candidates will have 4–6 years of structured cabling experience, strong problem-solving skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Overtime is available, and a sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 4–6 years of commercial low-voltage/structured cabling experience.
• Able to work well with others and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
• Meets Company driving standards and maintains safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Install and operate most types of low-voltage/structured cabling systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment in a senior service support role; test and verify connections and workmanship.
• Create shop drawings and submittals for new project kick-offs.
• Lead field technical work with minimal supervision; coordinate in-house and field activities.
• Oversee project installation, support field staff and project manager, and manage punch lists.
• Assist with sales by demonstrating products and system capabilities.
