Job summary

HNTB is seeking an Engineering Inspector to provide inspection and documentation of construction work, ensuring compliance with plans, specs, and contract provisions on projects across the region.

You will assist in evaluating design calculations, technical reports, and contract documents, while coordinating with field teams and the resident engineer to resolve issues and maintain project quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred.
• No visa sponsorship for this position.

Responsibilities

• Assist with construction field work to ensure conformance with plans, specs and contract documents.
• Observe on-site material testing and coordinate testing services; perform pay item quantity calculations.
• Read and interpret construction drawings; identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents.
• Review contractor daily reports for accuracy; document progress using photos/video; prepare progress reports.
• Consult with Resident Engineer; propose solutions; liaise with engineer of record.
• Utilize industry tools and technology (GPS/Rovers) to improve inspection accuracy.
• Prepare meeting agendas and minutes; manage RFIs, submittals, pay estimates and other deliverables.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
