Job summary

HNTB Corporation in Chicago, IL seeks an Engineer in Training to assist in inspection of construction work, ensure conformance with plans and specifications, and support documentation and reporting. You will coordinate inspections, review shop drawings, and assist in RFIs and submittals.

Responsibilities

Assists with construction field work tasks and activities to ensure conformance to plans and specs.
Coordinates and schedules quality control inspections.
Observes on-site material testing and coordinates testing and monitoring services.
Performs basic shop drawing review and ensures procedures and materials comply with plans and specs.
Reads and interprets construction drawings and specs to identify discrepancies.
Reviews contractor daily construction reports for accuracy and thoroughness.
Monitors project progress using photos/video and prepares progress reports.
Gathers information and communicates with Resident Engineer on progress and issues.
