Job summary

HNTB is seeking a qualified engineer to support construction inspections and documentation for major infrastructure projects. You will monitor compliance with plans, specs, and regulations, and assist in design calculations, reports, and contract documents.

Responsibilities include field tasks, on-site testing coordination, and liaison with the Resident Engineer to resolve issues and improve project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• EIT is preferred for this role.
• Familiarity with construction management software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with construction field work tasks and inspections to ensure conformance to plans and specifications.
• Observe on-site material testing and coordinate testing and monitoring services; prepare progress reports.
• Read and interpret drawings to identify discrepancies in documents.
• Review daily contractor reports and as-built markups; track progress with video/photos.
• Consult with Resident Engineer and assist in issue resolution; liaison with engineer of record.
• Use industry tools (GPS/Rovers) to increase inspection accuracy and efficiency.
• Prepare office engineer tasks including agendas, minutes, and tracking logs for RFIs and submittals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
