Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Critical Infrastructure Mechanical Engineer to provide full life-cycle support for AWS Data Centers, from design inception through site improvement and maintenance. You will be a key regional resource, troubleshoot RCA/CA, support field operations, and lead audits and upgrades to improve capacity, availability, and efficiency.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
Valid and active driver's license
Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
Experience using web-based and other software tools for calculation and data processing
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for critical infrastructures

Responsibilities

Provide recommendations with engineering judgement despite uncertainty/ambiguity
Build trust and relationships with stakeholders (Operations, Controls, Construction, Design, Commissioning, Product Managers, Technical Program Managers)
Lead engineering audits including on-site visits and produce risk mitigations reports
Support construction, commissioning and turnover as resident engineer
Solve problems with engineered solutions and oversee projects and consultants
Enjoy a mix of office and field work
